This is about stuff way more important than politics or healthcare.
1) On a scale of Europe (0) to Texas (11.) How popular is American football there? I know the CFL is, or at least was, a thing. But I doubt it’s as popular as here.
2) Do y’all call soccer/football soccer or football? Because now that I think about it, I’ve never heard a Canadian talk about the ball foot sport.

Wow. I didn’t expect it to be that high. Is the CFL the primary league people follow or the NFL?

1. 1-2. CFL dominates the Canadian football market. They’re basically the same anyways.
2. Soccer.

1) my relatives care more about the CFL and the NFL than I do. They’re pretty hardcore Packers fans.

CFL is Big, and a large percentage of Canadians live within driving distance of Detroit and Buffalo.

I was born & raised, lived in Montreal for 48 years then moved to the U.S. seven years ago.
I was a die hard Dolphins fan since I was a teenager, however once Montreal moved the football venue to McGill Stadium people really got into the CFL. Because downtown rather than the Olympic Stadium debacle.
Incidentally, the CFL rules are far better than the NFL, they just lack the talent as the big names obviously play south of the border.
The game of foot, is called soccer.

1. I’d say 6.5 to 7.5, but you’re asking a guy who for the most part only follows hockey. Could easily be bigger. Don’t know. Don’t care. Rugby is where it’s at for handegg.
2. I’ve only ever called it soccer. I think that one’s general.

Probably 70/30 NFL/CFL split.

1. NFL is probably like an 7-8 here, I know people who will watch it over the Grey Cup (CFL Superbowl)
2. Soccer, depends on the city though, I know they call it football in bigger places like Toronto
